Location, Location, Location!
This lovely Dar is located minutes (and I mean 3 or 4) from the main entrance to the old Medina, Bab Boujloud. It's centrally-lcated, safe and right in the heart of medina life -- close to shops, food vendors and restaurants. The street is wide and full of life. Across the street is the community fountain where people stop to water their donkeys, wash their dishes, take a drink on a hot day and children spray one another as they play after school.
Just half a block from the house is Cafe Clock, the new hot spot in Fes. A nice offering of international and local cuisine (including a caesar chicken salad and a satisfying camel burger) this cafe provides a steady offering of cultural events too. Weekly concerts, caligrapy classes, henna parties and art are some of the treats one can expect from Cafe Clock.
Lively, colorful and reminiscent of medieval times, this neighborhood is one of the best the Median has to offer.

Traditional Moroccan Dar For Sale $200,000 U.S.
A great Dar in a fabulous location in the old Medina of Fes is now for sale! Located near Bab Boujloud, all shopping and the fabulous new hot spot in the Medina, Cafe Clock!
This house features 4 salons with original tile work, cedar beam ceilings, cedar doors and windows with colored glass arches and decorative plaster work crafted by old world artisans.
Completely rewired throughout, new kitchen and 2 bathrooms, an additional water closet, rebuilt interior walls, retiled and rebuit stairs (traditional zeliig), re-tiled entryway (traditional zeliig) stripped and refinished cedarwood doors and windows, reconfigured and waterproofed terrace, and much, much more make this a simplified and satisfying restoration project to complete.
All that's left is the easy stuff and the fun decisions (upper floor wall and stairwell wall treatments, a few light fixtures, some paint, and your own finishing touches). This house is small by Moroccan standards but more than enough to accommodate guests in the 4 salons with rooms left over for storage and closets. In all, there are 13 rooms in this dar. Plenty of light comes through the center lightwell and windows facing the street. Cool and comfortable on the ground floor in the hot summer and cozy and warm with the doors and windows closed in the winter.
Wake up to the sound of birds chirping and roosters crowing in the morning. Listen to the swifts whistling their evensong as they careen through the skies every evening. Smell the fresh mint being washed in the public fountain outside the front door in the early morning hours and wave hello as the locals pass by everyday to fill their water containers. This Moroccan neighborhood is colorful, convenient, safe and friendly.
Email for more information on this fabulous oppurtunity. Option to purchase with furnishings and fixtures.
